Time for The Holo Hookup December 2017 It’s Raining Men swatches!
It’s Raining Men! Hallelujah! It’s Raining Men! Amen! And the makers have chosen some gorgeous men as their inspirations for The Holo Hookup December 2017 It’s Raining Men themed box. Any guesses who I would choose? Chris Hemsworth of course!
This box is filled with holo-y goodness, hence the name. ? Every month Glisten & Glow, Different Dimension and Cupcake Polish get together with a guest maker to bring us a phenomenal and well thought out box. This month Pahlish is the guest and the theme is It’s Raining Men. Pre-orders for the December 2017 box go live at 9pm EST on November 21st until November 28th at 9pm EST.
THE HOLO HOOKUP DECEMBER 2017 IT’S RAINING MEN
It was hard to do man themed nail art so I went with geometric designs. The sharp angles and blocky patterns seem masculine to me so for almost every look I used What’s Up Nails plate B015 Geo-Radical.
CUPCAKE POLISH “RYAN”
Many women and girls are a bit smitten with Ryan Reynolds. He has this wholesome, all American boyish charm about him. Which is actually ironic since he is Canadian.
“Ryan” is a crème based sea green leaning teal linear holographic polish. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
On top of this teal I did a look using the Different Dimension holo and Twinkled T Black stamping polish. I listed the stamping plate up above, but just in case you missed it, it is What’s Up Nails Geo-Radical B015.
DIFFERENT DIMENSION “JESSE”
Jackson Avery played by Jesse Williams has won the heart of women who watch Grey’s Anatomy. Those eyes get me every time!
“Jesse” is a crème based ivory linear holographic polish. Shown is three coats plus top coat. This one didn’t want to go on as easily as most Different Dimension polishes since it is a bit on the thick side.
The geometric design on this one was done using Twinkled T Black stamping polish and the Cupcake and Different Dimension holos.
GLISTEN & GLOW “CHANNING”
Magic Mike….nuff said. 😉
“Channing” is a dusty gray linear holographic with purple undertones and tiny touches of purple shimmer. Shown is three coats plus top coat.
I sponged over this using black and the Pahlish holo that you will see below. The white stamping polish is by Twinkled T and the matte top coat is from Glisten & Glow too.
The insipiration for this polish is Idris Elba. I am so ashamed that I had to Google him. He is best known for the HBO series The Wire. I don’t get HBO. But for this man, I may have too!
“Idris” is a soft milk chocolate taupe linear holo with rose gold shimmers. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
For these triangles I used Twinkled T white stamping polish and the Glisten & Glow holo.
Now that you have seen all four of the individual swatches and nail art I am going to show you some nail art using all four of the polishes.
To keep up with my geometric theme I did a striping tape main using all four holos over black.
This next look is a super simple wet brush design. Many people ask me the difference between a dry brush look and a wet brush look. The answer is simple, for a dry brush technique you want your nail polish brush to be almost dry and then apply it to the nail. For the wet brush technique you are mixing the polishes with a wet brush on your nail.
I then stamped over it using Uber Chic Beauty plate 21-02.
