Today I am going to show you the newest Holo Hook-Up Box. This box is filled with holo-y goodness, hence the name. ? Every month Glisten & Glow, Different Dimension and Cupcake Polish get together with a guest maker to bring us a phenomenal and well thought out box. This month Cadillacquer is the guest and the theme is Off to Broadway. Because the guest maker is international this month’s box is NOT a pre-order. It is first come, first serve only and supplies are very limited. Get your’s Friday, April 21st at 9pm EDT.
The May Holo Hook-Up box is themed around Broadway. Broadway is a musical lovers dream and even though I have never seen a “Broadway” musical, I have seen my fair share of musicals that were on Broadway and then became a touring show. I have seen Annie, Grease, Cats and more. Cats may be my all time favorite! I know most of the songs by heart and when they get stuck in my head, they are there for days. Great…I just caught myself humming “JennyAnyDots.”
THE HOLO HOOK-UP BOX MAY 2017 OFF TO BROADWAY
CUPCAKE POLISH “DEFYING GRAVITY”
“Defying Gravity” is a lime green linear holo with gold shimmers, gold flakes, and holo microglitter. This was inspired by Wicked. One I have not seen, but want to so much! Shown is two coats plus top coat.
I added some stamping on my ring finger and pinky using Uber Chic Beauty plate 401. I then used striping tape on my middle and index fingers to create the witch hats.
DIFFERENT DIMENSION “I AM NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT”
“I Am Not Throwing Away My Shot” is a metallic brown linear holo with copper and gold shimmers and gold microflakes. This was inspired by Hamilton. I am ashamed to say I have never even heard of this musical. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
Because I never heard of Hamilton I had to Google it. When I did most of the photos had a giant star with Alexander Hamilton standing on top. So I decided to stamp some stars on top of the polish.
“BEND & SNAP” BY GLISTEN & GLOW
“Bend & Snap” is a party punch pink with coral undertones linear holo. This has glistening platinum flakes and scattered turquoise flakes. This was inspired by Legally Blonde. Another one I haven’t seen, but I have watched the movie too many times to count. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
I wanted to do nail art with shoes and a Chihuahua, but my free hand skills are limited so I stuck to hearts and a blonde girl. 😉 I used two Bundle Monster plates for this one. The Elleandish and Twi_Star plates.
“SING ONCE AGAIN WITH ME” BY CADILLACQUER
“Sing Once Again With Me” is a silver linear holo with red shimmer and small red and black glitter. This was inspired by Phantom of the Opera. I was lucky enough to see Phantom of the Opera at the Ed Mirvish theatre in downtown Toronto. It was then known as the Pantages Theatre. Shown is three coats plus top coat.
I was so excited to try to play around with nail art for this one. I ended up making the iconic mask from a different mask stamping image. I think it works rather well, if I do say so myself.
Of course I did some nail art using all of the colors. I started with a gradient for this one and stamped over it using Pueen Fairytale Love 02 plate and JQ-60.
Next I did a dry brush look using all four again. The stamping on this one is from Uber Chic Beauty plate 802.
This last look is a dry marble mani completely inspired by Sveta Sanders.
This last macro reminds me of watermelon.
Now let’s give these makers a standing ovation for all of their hard work. Break a leg on sales and all that jazz! 🙂
Thanks for reading!
