Today I am going to show you the newest Holo Hook-Up Box. This box is filled with holo-y goodness, hence the name. 😉 Every month Glisten & Glow, Different Dimension and Cupcake Polish get together with a guest maker to bring us a phenomenal and well thought out box. This month Ever After Polish is the guest and the theme is Women Stamped in History. Pre-orders for the March 2017 box go live at 9pm EST on February 21st until February 28th at 9pm EST.
History is something that has always fascinated me. I always tell my kids that I love history because it doesn’t change! The four women celebrated in this box are four extremely well known, historical women who have appeared on US stamps.
THE HOLO HOOK-UP BOX MARCH 2017 WOMEN STAMPED IN HISTORY
CUPCAKE POLISH “SUSAN B. ANTHONY”
“Susan B. Anthony” was an American women’s rights activist and the first woman to be depicted on a US coin. Year on stamp: 1936, 1955. This polish is a bright blue linear holo with smooth holo micro glitters. Shown is two coats plus top coat, but I can see this being a one coater for some.
I added some stamping to this beautiful blue using the Pueen Double Stamp plate and Born Pretty plate 58.
DIFFERENT DIMENSION “AMELIA EARHART”
“Amelia Earhart” was the first female aviator to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone. Year on stamp: 1963. This polish is a brick red linear holo with added flakes. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
I added some stamping to this using Cici & Sisi plate 27. I think it has a henna look to it and adds a bit more to this gorgeous brick red.
GLISTEN & GLOW “ELEANOR ROOSEVELT”
“Eleanor Roosevelt” is a former first lady of the US and was an American diplomat and activist. Year on stamp: 1930, 1984, 1998. This polish is a light army green linear holo with added purple to blue shifting flakes and very light dusting of red holo glitters. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
I stamped over this stunning green using Painted Polish “Stamped in Charcoal” and Cici & Sisi plate 30.
EVER AFTER POLISH “LOUISA MAY ALCOTT”
“Louisa May Alcott” was an author and best known for “Little Women.” Year on stamp: 1940. This polish is a light beige with a pink flash. Shown is three thin coats plus top coat.
I stamped over this perfect neutral holo using Pueen Marble Paradise 01 plate.
All four of these polishes are filled with holographic beauty. The polishes all go well together and I got a little carried away on the nail art.
First up is a dry brush look using “Eleanor Roosevelt” and “Susan B. Anthony.” I then stamped over that with Winstonia plate W405.
This next look is a reverse stamping design using all four holos and the St. Holly Plate by Gogo Only.
I then used Droplets Stencils from What’s Up Nails to create the next look.
And last but not least is a dry brush mani using all four shades with stamping from the Lina Nail Art Supplies “Feelin’ Shapely” plate.
Thank you for making it this far. I know this is a very photo heavy post!
Thanks for reading!
