Today I have the Glisten & Glow Summer Livin’ Collection to share with you.
I am very excited about this collection. It consists of five neons that are perfect for summer! These polishes stamp and watermarble like a dream. And every time I say Summer Livin’ my mind goes to Summer Lovin’ and then I start singing the song from Grease. 🙂 It has been in my head for days now. While I sing, why don’t you take a closer look at the Glisten & Glow Summer Livin’ Collection.
GLISTEN & GLOW SUMMER LIVIN’ COLLECTION
All of these are shiny on their own and I didn’t use a shiny top coat. But you will see that I made them matte as well and to do that I used Glisten & Glow’s Matte Top Coat. I think I love them even more with the matte top coat, if that’s possible.
BBQ & BALL GAMES
“BBQ & Ball Games” is a neon yellow polish. Shown is three coats.
Below is the yellow with a matte top coat.
FLIP FLOPS & FIREWORKS
“Flip Flops & Fireworks” is a neon purple polish. Shown is two coats.
Now you get to see the purple with the matte top coat.
ROAD TRIPS & ROLLER COASTERS
“Road Trips & Roller Coasters” is a neon green polish. Shown is two coats.
Next is the matte top coat over the green.
SLUSHIES & SUN TANS
“Slushies & Sun Tans” is a neon orange polish. Shown is three coats.
Now for the matte version.
WATERMELON & WATERSLIDES
“Watermelon & Waterslides” is a neon pink polish. This is the thickest of the set and I think some people could easily get away with this being a one coater. However for my photos I used two coats.
Let’s see the matte version of the pink.
Let’s talk nail art. These neons are perfect together and so much can be done with them. The most important thing I need to tell you is that these babies watermarble. And they all play great in the water with the exception of the green. It spreads in the water, don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t like to spread as much as the others. This is something I have always had issues with. I remember a certain sought after neon indie polish set that everyone watermarble with and I had the same issues with their green and other neon greens. I’m not sure why it happens and if it only happens to me. Anyway…. check out the watermarble I did using the Glisten & Glow Summer Livin’ collection.
I then added the matte top coat over it and wowza!
Up next is a stamping look using “Watermelon & Waterslides” and “Road Trips & Roller Coasters.” All of these neons stamp wonderfully but these two shades look so amazing together. I used What’s Up Nails B026 Fashion Prints plate for the ikat design. Love how they look almost tie-dyed.
Next is a gradient using “Slushies & Sun Tans” and “BBQ & Ball Games.” I added the stamped suns using What’s Up Nails plate B029 Picnic in the Park.
This next design I did by sponging all of the neons over white and then stamped over it using What’s Up Nails plate B010 Texture Me Nature.
Last but not least is a fruity look I did using the neons plus Glisten & Glow’s “Apple Picking & Antiquing” for the strawberries. The fruit images were done using What’s Up Nails plate B029 Picnic in the Park and the dots were done with a dotting tool from Live.Love.Polish.
