Time for the Cupcake Polish Lakeside Collection.
Before I jump right into the polish, I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my mom! I think there are a couple of polishes in this collection she is going to want. She doesn’t change her polish often, but when she does, she wants the best of the best now. I have created a monster! 😉 Now let’s talk about the polish…Lately, Cupcake Polish has been shaking things up a bit. They are best known for their holo and now they are adding flakes and shimmers. This collection however is made up of six polishes and three are shimmers with NO holo! And they are stunning! You can grab the Cupcake Polish Lakeside Collection on October 20th at 12pm CST.
CUPCAKE POLISH LAKESIDE COLLECTION
All six of these polishes applied well. I had a couple issues with the glitter in one of the holos. I will talk about that more down below.
“Shore Thing” is a lavender crème based linear holographic with iridescent glitters. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
FLOAT YOUR BOAT
“Float Your Boat” is a grey crème based linear holographic with iridescent glitters. Shown is two coats plus top coat. The glitters in this one didn’t want to cooperate very well in the second coat. First coat went on fine but during the second coat they kept wanting to stand up and be a general pain in the you know what. I ended up pushing two glitters down with a toothpick and top coat fixed all of the rest.
HERE OAR THERE
“Here Oar There” is a light brown almost caramel crème based linear holographic with iridescent glitters. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
KEEPING IT REEL
“Keeping It Reel” is a moss green crème polish with pink/copper/green/gold multichrome shimmers. Shown is three coats plus top coat. This is the only one I used three coats for.
ALL TIDE UP
“All Tide Up” is a mauve crème polish with magenta/purple/blue/green/teal multichrome shimmers. Shown is two coats plus top coat. I probably should have used three coats for this one just for photos alone.
DON’T BE SHALLOW
“Don’t Be Shallow” is a cornflower blue crème polish with pink/copper/green/gold multichrome shimmers. Shown is two coats plus top coat.
I also did a dry brush nail art design using the three shimmers over white. On top of that I added stamping using Uber Chic Beauty plate 20-03 and Painted Polish Stamped in Charcoal.
In person I am so in love with the design but it didn’t translate well in photos. The colors were being washed out while my skin looked super orange. I took the photos at night which I rarely do, so maybe lighting was not my friend that night.
Thanks for reading!
